The INDONESIAN, (Jakarta) — The implementation of the new National Police (Polri) Law and the commemoration of the 80th Bhayangkara Day on 1 July 2026 mark a new phase in strengthening the Polri under the leadership of Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
Institutional strengthening is vital because security stability is one of the main prerequisites for successful development in Indonesia under President Prabowo Subianto.
Amid global challenges ranging from economic uncertainty and the rise of cybercrime to increasingly complex social dynamics, Indonesia needs a more professional, modern, and publicly trusted police force.
President Prabowo Subianto’s speech at the 80th Bhayangkara Day celebration further underscored the Polri’s strategic role in national development.
The President expressed appreciation for the Polri’s contributions to maintaining public order, supporting food security, assisting disaster relief, and participating in key national programmes.
This recognition confirms that the Polri functions not only as a security provider but also as a vital institution preserving the stability Indonesia needs to move forward.
In support of this broader agenda, Ir. R. Haidar Alwi, M.T., President of Haidar Alwi Care and the Haidar Alwi Institute, and Advisory Board Member of the ITB Alumni Association, has raised the target of the national social programme.
The “People Helping People” movement will now aim to deliver three million donations to orphans and the needy by 2029, up from the previous target of two million.
As of May 2026, Haidar Alwi Care has distributed approximately 1.87 million donations to orphans and underprivileged children across Indonesia.
This achievement lays the foundation for expanding a social initiative that combines humanitarian concern with a commitment to strengthening unity and social solidarity.
“A professional Polri keeps Indonesia safe. A caring society sustains Indonesia’s social strength. When both move forward together, Indonesia becomes stronger, more stable, and better prepared for the future,” Haidar Alwi said.
He emphasised that assistance to orphans and the vulnerable is far more than charity—it is a moral investment in Indonesia’s future.
This perspective explains why the 3 Million Donations Movement is seen not only as a humanitarian effort but also as a way to reinforce the social foundation required to preserve unity, foster optimism, and support national development goals.
Donations as Indonesia’s Moral Strength
Raising the target to three million donations by 2029 demonstrates Haidar Alwi Care’s commitment to extending the reach of its work across the archipelago.
For Haidar Alwi, orphans and the needy are not merely beneficiaries—they are an essential part of the generation that will shape Indonesia’s future.
Through the “People Helping People” movement, donations bring tangible benefits to recipients while building awareness that national progress must be supported by a strong spirit of mutual cooperation.
Caring for others is one of the strengths that enables Indonesia to overcome social, economic, and humanitarian challenges.
“Every donation is truly a social investment in Indonesia’s future,” Haidar Alwi explained.
This kind of social cohesion ultimately underpins the success of national priorities. Development requires sound budgets, policies, and programmes—but it also demands a harmonious society, mutual concern, and sustained optimism within the nation.
Supporting Professional Polri and a Progressive Indonesia
The new Polri Law provides a stronger legal foundation for advancing the Presisi (Precision) transformation led by Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
This reform seeks to enhance professionalism, improve public services, expand technology adoption, and deepen public trust in the Polri as the people’s protector, guardian, and servant.
The 3 Million Donations Movement is dedicated in this spirit as moral support for the success of the Presisi transformation.
Secure conditions create greater space for economic growth, improved welfare, and the effective delivery of government development programmes.
The movement also stands in support of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration in building a progressive, safe, just, and prosperous Indonesia.
The Polri’s success in maintaining security, the government’s effectiveness in delivering development, and the steady improvement of people’s welfare all serve the same goal: building a stronger nation ready to embrace Golden Indonesia 2045.
“Strong security requires a professional police force. Successful development requires effective governance. But both also need moral support from the community,” Haidar noted.
Through the 3 Million Donations for Orphans and the Needy Movement, Haidar Alwi Care aims to deliver tangible benefits to the people, reinforce the Polri’s transformation, support the Prabowo administration, and contribute to the shared effort to build a more advanced, just, prosperous, and dignified Indonesia.
