The INDONESIAN,(Jakarta) — As Indonesia prepares to mark the 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary on July 1, 2026, Alya Cahya, S.H., Head of Division XII of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) Womenpreneur Board, Secretary General of the Indonesian Muslim Student Action Union (KAPMI), and CEO of Profesia Pro Vocational Training Institute, expressed high appreciation for the various achievements and dedication of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in maintaining security, upholding the law, serving the community, and supporting key national strategic programs.

According to Alya Cahya, the Police’s journey over eight decades represents a long-standing commitment to serving the nation and the state. Amid increasingly complex challenges, the force has consistently demonstrated its ability to adapt through institutional reform, modernization of public services, enhanced professional standards among personnel, and stronger collaboration with the community.

“I extend my appreciation and respect to all ranks of the National Police for their hard work in maintaining public order and security. As we approach this 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary, the Police’s numerous achievements deserve recognition and appreciation from all elements of society,” Alya Cahya stated.

Alya highlighted the success of Operation Ketupat 2026 as tangible proof of the effective synergy between the Police and various government ministries and agencies in delivering quality public services. The operation successfully reduced traffic accidents by more than five percent during the Eid homecoming and return periods, reflecting the Police’s serious commitment to protecting public safety.

Furthermore, various technology-based public service innovations — including digital services, electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE), online driver’s license applications, and other modern administrative systems — demonstrate the Police’s commitment to providing faster, more transparent, and accountable services.

In the area of law enforcement, Alya noted that the Police have delivered significant results by uncovering numerous high-profile criminal cases, including combating corruption, drug trafficking, conventional and online gambling, cybercrime, and various transnational offenses that threaten national security.

“The successful resolution of thousands of cases involving corruption, narcotics, gambling, and other crimes shows that the Police remain active in carrying out their law enforcement duties to protect the public and safeguard state interests,” she said.

Alya also commended the Police’s efforts to strengthen supervision systems and improve service quality through various evaluation mechanisms, including the introduction of the 2026 National Police Commission Awards (Kompolnas Awards), which serve as a platform to encourage further improvements in policing services.

In her view, police reform is evident not only in structural and institutional changes but also in the growing emphasis on a humane approach across all community service programs.

“Today, the Police serve not only as law enforcers but also as partners to the public. An approach that prioritizes service, protection, and guidance forms a vital foundation for building public trust,” Alya explained.

Additionally, Alya Cahya noted that the Police’s involvement in supporting national food security programs represents a form of service highly relevant to the nation’s current needs. She emphasized that national security encompasses more than just law and order — it also includes food security, social stability, and public welfare.

“Food security is an integral part of national resilience. When the Police help strengthen cooperation down to the village level, provide guidance to communities, and support government strategic programs to achieve food self-sufficiency, they are effectively helping secure the nation’s future,” she added.

Alya also recognized the Police’s contribution to supporting national nutrition programs through various service facilities and initiatives aimed at improving human resource quality as part of the vision for a Golden Indonesia 2045.

In the humanitarian sphere, the Police’s extensive social activities — including health assistance, food aid, support for vulnerable groups, and disaster response efforts across the country — demonstrate that the institution remains closely connected to the people.

According to Alya, the Police’s achievements have also gained international recognition, with various global security and stability indicators showing Indonesia’s improving standing in international surveys. This serves as evidence that police reform and modernization are progressing in a positive direction.

Nevertheless, Alya emphasized that future challenges will continue to grow. Therefore, reform efforts must continue, with a focus on professionalism, transparency, accountability, and active public participation in overseeing institutional improvements.

“Appreciation for the Police’s achievements should not diminish the spirit of evaluation and progress. On the contrary, these accomplishments should serve as motivation to further enhance service quality for the community,” she stressed.

In closing her statement, Alya Cahya extended her congratulations to all members of the Indonesian National Police on the 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary.

“Happy 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary. Continue to be protectors, guardians, and servants of the people. Continue to uphold security, enforce the law, strengthen national resilience, and evolve into an increasingly professional, modern, and humane institution loved by the Indonesian people. The Police’s dedication is a vital part of Indonesia’s journey toward a more advanced, safe, and prosperous future,” Alya Cahya concluded.
