The INDONESIAN (Jakarta)— A warm, friendly atmosphere filled with a spirit of collaboration marked a gathering hosted by Alya Cahya, S.H., Head of Department XII of HIPMI Womenpreneur Board, Secretary‑General of KAPMI, and Chief Executive Officer of LPK Profesia Pro, alongside a number of media professionals at Kopi Oey Melawai in Blok M, South Jakarta.
The meeting served not only to strengthen ties between the media and various community groups, but also became a productive forum to build positive synergy between the press and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) — with the goal of supporting social stability, public safety, and national development.
On that occasion, Alya Cahya expressed appreciation for the press’s strategic role as a pillar of democracy, bearing great responsibility in delivering accurate, balanced, and enlightening information to the public. She noted that the media plays a key part in raising public awareness while maintaining a healthy social climate through responsible reporting.
“The press contributes greatly to educating the nation and overseeing development progress. Therefore, harmonious relations between the media, the public, and institutions including the National Police must be continuously nurtured and strengthened,” Alya Cahya said.
As a young figure active in entrepreneurship, human resource development, and women’s empowerment, Alya views professional media as essential to building public trust, supporting a favorable investment climate, and advancing sustainable national development.
She also commended the National Police for its ongoing efforts to maintain public safety and order amid increasingly complex modern challenges. In the digital age — marked by a flood of information — close cooperation between the press and law enforcement is indispensable, she added.
Beyond giving praise, Alya shared she feels called to help build more constructive ties between the two institutions. In her view, they complement each other in upholding democracy, strengthening public confidence, and creating safe, conducive social environments.
“The media acts as an information bridge and a tool for social oversight, while the Police ensure safety, order, and law enforcement. When both sides operate as healthy, professional partners, society at large directly benefits,” she explained.
“I believe a professional press and a precise, responsive National Police are two powerful forces that can work side‑by‑side to sustain public trust. That is why I feel compelled to keep encouraging and expanding positive collaboration for the good of our communities and our nation,” Alya stated.
She hopes existing communication and goodwill between journalists and police officers will grow through dialogue forums, regular gatherings, and structured partnerships — stressing that open communication is vital to overcoming future social challenges.
Attending journalists welcomed the initiative, describing this informal gathering as an effective way to exchange ideas, improve communication flows, and deepen relationships across all sectors of society.
In a relaxed setting over food and drinks at Kopi Oey Melawai, participants also discussed pressing topics: the challenges facing journalism in the digital era, the importance of fact‑checking, and joint measures to curb misinformation and hoaxes that threaten public order.
Beyond media‑related themes, conversations highlighted the need for closer teamwork among business leaders, civil society organizations, the press, and law enforcement agencies to support inclusive, sustainable national development centered on people’s welfare.
The gathering concluded with a group photo, a symbol of shared commitment to maintaining open lines between the press, the public, business circles, and law enforcement authorities. It is hoped this growing synergy will further strengthen cooperation in safeguarding safety and order, while delivering high‑quality, useful information for all Indonesians.
