The INDONESIAN (Jakarta)– Aliya Cahya, Secretary General of the Central Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Chamber of Commerce (BPP KAPMI), emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between entrepreneurs, young people, and the government to drive business development in Indonesia, particularly within the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector.
She stated that the organization should not only serve as a platform for large-scale entrepreneurs but also act as a space for small business owners to develop and grow together.
“We want BPP KAPMI to be present among the community, assisting business owners who need synergy, collaboration, and support to advance their ventures,” said Aliya.
The remarks were made during an event featuring an orphan donation drive, business matching session, and iftar gathering hosted by BPP KAPMI at Hotel Balairung Jakarta on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
Aliya explained that the social initiative is part of the organization’s commitment to fostering social awareness while strengthening entrepreneurial networks among young people.
During the donation drive, approximately 50 orphans from Central Jakarta received assistance from the organization’s members.
“We hope that such donation activities will not only be held once a year but can be conducted two to three times annually as a manifestation of our care for the community,” she added.
Meanwhile, Muliansyah Abdurrahman, Chairman of BPP KAPMI, stated that the event had three main agendas: business matching between established entrepreneurs and young people, the orphan donation drive, and the collective iftar.
He viewed the activity as a crucial opportunity to provide space and access for young people to gain early exposure to the business world.
“We aim to respect and provide opportunities for young people to grow and develop into future young entrepreneurs,” said Muliansyah.
Furthermore, Aliya Cahya noted that BPP KAPMI currently has governance networks across various regions in Indonesia, including Papua. When combined with members at the regional level, the total number of members is estimated to range from hundreds to thousands.
Moving forward, the organization targets significant growth in its membership while enhancing various MSME empowerment programs through training, mentoring, and business development activities.
In addition, BPP KAPMI plans to expand organizational inclusivity by embracing people with disabilities in its empowerment programs.
“People with disabilities have great potential. Some have even become excellent trainers and planners. However, there have not been many platforms that truly support them thus far,” Aliya pointed out.
She emphasized that BPP KAPMI aims to be a friendly and open space for all groups to develop.
“We want BPP KAPMI to be a comfortable home for people with disabilities to grow, thrive, and collaborate in their work,” she concluded.
Through these programs, BPP KAPMI hopes to create tangible impact for the community while strengthening the role of young entrepreneurs in national economic development.
