Jakarta – The Indonesian Law Student Network (JMHI) once again held a demonstration at the Horse Statue Roundabout, Monas Jakarta (State Palace and Ministry of State Secretariat). They voiced concerns regarding irregularities behind the legal process undertaken by Abdul Hayat Gani as a civil servant in fighting for his dignity and employment rights. (December 4, 2025)
It is known that Abdul Hayat Gani has pursued legal avenues up to the Supreme Court (MA) and emerged as the winner. The State Administrative Court (PTUN) has officially issued an execution order for the legally binding decision, which obliges the defendant (President of Indonesia) to pay compensation to Abdul Hayat Gani.
“It is only appropriate for Mr. President of Indonesia to carry out PTUN Execution Order No. 4110/Pen.Eks/G/2025/PTUN.JKT, regarding the obligation of the President of Indonesia as the respondent to pay compensation as damages to the petitioner, Mr. Abdul Hayat Gani. This is a court order or decree, which must be obeyed,” said Syahril, the field coordinator.
Syahril also requested that the President of Indonesia give a “red report card” (a poor performance rating) to the South Sulawesi Provincial Government.
“The dismissal of Mr. Abdul Hayat Gani by the South Sulawesi Provincial Government was not appropriate or procedurally flawed. The legal process was still ongoing, and Mr. AHG even won, yet he was dismissed! So it is fitting for the President of Indonesia to give a red report card to the South Sulawesi Provincial Government,” Syahril asserted.
On the other hand, Wiranto, the general chairman of JMHI, urged the President of Indonesia to remove Zudan Arif Fakrulloh as the head of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN), citing allegations of various violations.
“While serving as acting Governor of South Sulawesi, Mr. Zudan issued an erroneous policy, which then became the basis for the Ministry of State Secretariat, causing the execution of the PTUN decision to be protracted and complicated. Furthermore, Mr. Zudan is suspected of abusing his authority and engaging in illegal levies (pungli) in the S3 program he initiated,” Wiranto firmly stated.
It is known that on November 3, JMHI held its first demonstration and sent a letter to the Minister of State Secretariat, but to date, JMHI has not received any response.
Wiranto assessed that the administrative management of correspondence within the Ministry of State Secretariat is unprofessional and not transparent. He requested the Minister of State Secretariat to evaluate his incompetent staff.
“We submitted a letter to the Minister of State Secretariat more than a month ago, but there has been no response to this day. This is the central government, you know! How can they be so incompetent at handling a simple letter?” he remarked.
Before leaving the protest site, they expressed hope that the President of Indonesia would listen and accommodate JMHI’s demands.
