The Way Kanan Police Department’s Tekab 308 Presisi Unit arrested a suspect accused of committing an act of molestation against an underage girl in Kampung Suka Bumi, Buay Bahuga District, Way Kanan Regency, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. The suspect, identified as TH (22), is a resident of Desa Sukajaya, Buay Rawan District, South OKU Regency, South Sumatra Province.
The Incident
According to the police, the incident occurred on September 8, 2025, when the victim, a 17-year-old girl, was lured to the suspect’s location and allegedly molested. The victim’s father reported the incident to the police after seeing a video of the molestation.
The Arrest
The suspect was arrested on November 3, 2025, at around 8:00 AM in Kampung Mesir Ilir, Bahuga District, Way Kanan Regency. The police seized evidence and took the suspect into custody for further investigation.
Charges
If found guilty, the suspect could face up to 15 years in prison under Article 81 (2) or Article 82 (1) of the Indonesian Law No. 17/2016 on the Protection of Children, in conjunction with Article 64 (1) of the Indonesian Penal Code.
