Two Dimensions of the Case: Alleged Abuse of Elderly Woman at Church and Shadows of Investment Fraud; Police Urged to Investigate Thoroughly

PRIME NEWS POST

The Indonesian, (Jakarta)— The case of violence against an elderly woman at the Indonesian Christian Church (Gereja Kristen Indonesia) Samanhudi has not only left physical scars but has also uncovered allegations of a more complex legal issue. Aries Krisnandari (AK), a 78-year-old woman, is reportedly a victim of abuse while also being entangled in a problematic investment scheme that is now coming to light.

The incident occurred on Sunday (03/29/2026) at approximately 11:30 AM Western Indonesia Time, allegedly involving a man with the initials LWT. Based on family statements and initial evidence, LWT is accused of pushing the victim, causing her to fall and hit a wall. The impact resulted in severe lacerations to her head, requiring intensive care at Husada Hospital.

However, emerging facts indicate that this incident is not an isolated event.

Trail of Conflict: From Troubled Investments to Physical Violence

The victim’s family revealed that prior to the incident, AK had invested a large sum of money in a private insurance company, encouraged by LL, who is LWT’s wife. Subsequently, the company reportedly collapsed and defaulted on payments to its clients.

When the victim attempted to seek clarification regarding her invested funds, there was no willingness for transparency from the investment promoters. What should have been a safe meeting at the church premises unfortunately escalated into an act of violence.

“This is not merely a spontaneous incident. There is a serious and unresolved financial background to this matter,” stated a family representative firmly.

Indications of Multiple Criminal Offenses

The case is now viewed as potentially involving multiple criminal charges. Aside from assault, there are other legal violations that law enforcement officers need to investigate thoroughly, including:

– Alleged abuse of the elderly as regulated in Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP), Article 466.
– Potential fraud or deceptive practices related to the defaulted investment.
– Allegations of negligence or breach of trust in offering financial products to the victim.

The family urges that the investigation should not stop at the aspect of physical violence alone, but must also probe the links to the problematic investment practices that harmed the victim.

Strong Evidence, Calls for Maximum Law Enforcement

The case is supported by crucial evidence, including CCTV footage from the location, medical examination results, and the victim’s blood-stained clothing. All evidence has been submitted to the Central Jakarta Metro Police (Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat).

The official report has been registered under Number: LP/B/896/III/2026/SPKT/POLRES METRO JAKPUS/POLDA METRO JAYA.

“We view this not just as an issue of violence, but potentially part of a broader crime. We ask investigators to work professionally, transparently, and courageously to uncover the root of the problem,” the victim’s family emphasized.

Public Attention: Violence in a Place of Worship

This incident has also sparked widespread concern as it took place within a house of worship — a space that should guarantee safety and moral protection. Violence against an elderly person in such a location is considered a serious violation of human values and social ethics.

Demand: Full Investigation Without Compromise

The victim’s family firmly requests the police to:

– Name and detain the suspect if criminal elements are proven.
– Expand the investigation to cover allegations of investment fraud.
– Reveal the roles of other involved parties, including those involved in the investment offering process.
– Ensure legal protection for the victim as part of a vulnerable group (the elderly).
